Rug Stain Removal Guide

Use Rug Expo's rug stain removal guide to help save your rugs from permanent damage!

These are our best tips and tricks on how to get stains out of carpet and rugs.

If you act quickly, almost all stains can be removed without ruining the rug. If necessary, start by diluting the spill with a small amount of water, then blot the wet area until moisture is removed. Next, gently brush excess water immediately to prevent the stain from soaking in and causing a chemical reaction with the fibers. For colored stains and spills, you can flip the rug and pour water from the backside. This will help flush the spill out from the front. Below you'll find the right procedure for all types of rug stains.
